Dr. Anthony Herron is the senior pastor of Remnant Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is passionate about helping people by serving his community and teaching future leaders how to grow and succeed.  Anthony Herron graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Anthony has a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education Administration from the University of Oklahoma (“OU”) in Norman, Oklahoma. He has a Master of Arts from Southwestern Assemblies of God University (now Nelson University) in Waxahachie, Texas. Anthony has a Doctor of Ministry in Ministry Leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia with High Distinction Honors.

Anthony started his career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ​Anthony has several years of experience advising senior leadership within public, private, for-profit, and governmental organizations regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, risk management, and control processes to include financial, operational, compliance, and information technology risks and business processes. Anthony has provided thought leadership and challenged business processes throughout his career in the effort to help ensure organizations have sound processes and procedures in place to accomplish strategic goals and objectives. 

 

Anthony served as Internal Audit Manager for the University of Oklahoma (OU) Health Sciences Center Campus to include OU Physicians and the University of Oklahoma Tulsa Campus. Anthony promoted to Internal Audit Director for the OU Health Sciences Center Campus prior to taking on an opportunity in the private sector. Anthony served as the first corporate internal audit department leader at one of Oklahoma’s Largest Privately Held Corporations, Love’s (“Loves”) Travel Stops & Country Stores and Affiliated Companies. Anthony was responsible for formulating and implementing the strategic plan for the corporate internal audit department, annual audit plan risk assessment, and internal audit methodology at Love’s.

Anthony served as the Chief Operating Officer (title later changed to Deputy Executive Director of Operations) for the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County (“MLS”). MLS is a network of nineteen public libraries throughout Oklahoma County and the largest public library system in Oklahoma. During his tenure he had strategic oversight of a variety of areas to include capital projects, facilities, marketing and communications, strategic planning and data analysis, security operations, and information technology. Anthony led efforts for new build and/or renovations for five facilities with capital project budgets exceeding $20 million. Anthony currently works for Banner Health based in Phoenix, Arizona as a senior consultant for the Internal Assurance department focusing on enterprise wide risk based financial and operational audits.

Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Oklahoma. Anthony is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors. He is a past member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. Anthony served as an ex-officio board member of the United Way of Central Oklahoma, Camp Dakani, and has served on Allocation Sub-Committees and has served on the Financial Review Team for the United Way of Central Oklahoma. Anthony is a graduate of the United Way of Central Oklahoma Board Serve program and the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA) leadership development program (LEADS). Anthony volunteers with community groups to include the United Way of Central Oklahoma and the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma. Anthony completed programs to grow as a leader, such as Leadership Midwest City.  Anthony is married to Dr. Ashley Herron and they are raising three sons.
